RAM's return to NASCAR ends with mixed results at Daytona

RAM competed in its first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race since 2014 at Daytona International Speedway on Friday.

The results were all over the place.

RAM is fielding five full-time Truck Series entries with Kaulig Racing in 2026. One of those is an "All-Star" truck, while Brenden Queen, Mini Tyrrell, Justin Haley and Daniel Dye pilot the other four.

How RAM fared at Daytona

NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart was the first driver to drive the No. 25 "All-Star" truck, and his race came to an early end.

Late in Stage 2, Jake Garcia washed up the track and came up into Stewart, putting both drivers into the wall. Stewart's damage was not worth fixing, and he finished 36th, 63 laps down.

On the other end of the spectrum, Haley was the most competitive of the five RAM Trucks. Haley, a winner at Daytona in both the NASCAR Cup Series and O'Reilly Auto Parts Series, led 20 laps — tied with Michael McDowell and Carson Hocevar for the most of any driver on the night.

However, Haley fell outside of the top-10 on the final lap and finished 22nd. He was the only RAM driver to lead laps in Friday's race.

Queen (seventh) scored the best finish of any RAM driver on Friday and was the only Kaulig driver to finish inside the top-15.

Dye had a quiet evening and finished 17th, while Tyrrell finished 19th after having to use the new manufacturer provisional to even make the race.

All in all, Friday evening was a mixed bag for RAM in its official return to NASCAR.
