RCR’s Jesse Love recalls 'PTSD flashbacks from Atlanta' at Talladega

Just a great group of guys [on my team] and it’s been such a journey to get to this point. I got so many people to thank. I just wanted it so bad and I had PTSD flashbacks from Atlanta. Jesse Love said in an interview with Regan Smith.

The RCR driver was on course to claim victory, but two laps from the checkered flag, Hill spun his car after colliding with Parker Kligerman this led to a multi-car pileup, which caused overtime. Subsequently, another wreck caused a double overtime, and drivers limped back to their outboxes as they ran out of fuel.

However, Love stayed out and gambled on his low fuel level to claim the victory he had eluded for a long, giving flashbacks of his Atlanta run where he eventually finished 12^th after leading the race. Then the green flag waved, he bolted through the pack and blocked multiple lanes to claim his maiden win, having a happy ending after all.

Austin Hill claims Jesse Love to be the conqueror of the Speedways

The No.23 driver looked to be in a prime position for adding another victory to his list of wins. However, with a late race spin, his race soon tumbled downwards and the only RCR driver in the top remaining was Love. Subsequently, his teammate emerged victorious after fuel scares and he claimed the No.2 driver to be the king of the Speedways.

Post-race, Hill tweeted his teammate to be the Super Speedway Merchant, referring to Talladega’s length of 2.66 miles, which is the longest on the calendar. Moreover, the RCR driver conquered the track in dire circumstances and etched his name in the track’s history.

Despite leading the race for the most amount of laps by any driver, the 30-year-old finished 14^th. He would like to recover from this bad outing and fight for the win next week at Dover Speedway in Delaware.
