Ryan Blaney captured a candid moment of Bubba Wallace after he won the Brickyard 400 on Sunday. On X/Twitter, Blaney shared a photo of Wallace passed out on a jet with the Brickyard 400 trophy.

“Brick’d Up,” Ryan Blaney wrote in the social media post. It’s clear Bubba Wallace was exhausted after the race that featured a weather delay and two overtime restarts. Wallace held off Kyle Larson to win one of the crown jewels in NASCAR. Blaney was also in the mix as he finished seventh.”

After the race, Wallace spoke to reporters about how he was feeling. “I’m wore slap out, if you couldn’t tell,” he said. “I’m just proud of the team, proud of the effort put in each and every week, people pushing me to be better. The biggest thing that gets lost is believing in self. “I’ll say those last 20 laps there was ups and downs of telling myself, You’re not going to be able to do it. I hate that I’m that way. I push myself to be the absolute best.”

Bubba Wallace talks about Brickyard 400 victory

Sunday’s win was huge for Wallace as he clinched a spot in the playoffs with four races remaining in the regular season. He will join Blaney and 11 other drivers in the chance to win the Cup Series championship.

Wallace also snapped a 100-race winless streak. Before Sunday, the 31-year-old’s last win was in September 2022. He came close to having multiple victories in the last few years, but he finally broke through on Sunday.

It seems like Wallace is beginning to find his stride. Last week, the Alabama native finished seventh at Dover, and it came after finishing outside the top 20 in the last three races. Along with the win at Indianapolis, Wallace has recorded eight top-10 finishes and four top-five finishes this year.

“It’s been about three years since I’ve done this. Coming off turn 4, I knew it was a good turn 4,” Wallace said. “I knew he wasn’t going to get there, so I knew we won. Unless I ran out of gas early, that it was ours. I’m quite surprised I wasn’t crying like a little baby. I was, I guess, more relieved.”
