Ryan Preece suffered a tough blow at Talladega on Sunday as he was disqualified for a spoiler violation. But his second-place finish in the race was an example of him having a strong start to the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Season with RFK Racing.

On3 recently spoke to Preece about the key to his early-season success with his new racing team. “Everything. When it comes to being teammates with Chris [Buescher] and Brad [Keselowski], their willingness and openness as teammates has been really, really great for me as a driver,” Preece said. “I would say Derrick [Finley] and the veterans of our team have been great for the new guys. They’ve really shared a lot of their knowledge, as well as being great teammates. And I feel like all three teams have just been lifting each other up and helping push each other forward. That’s been nice to see.

“I just feel like the shop environment’s been phenomenal. Even the guys that are here in the shop working and don’t necessarily travel, I feel like they feel a part of it. And that’s something that’s extremely important because you don’t want to just turn these race teams into factories where guys just… They feel like they’re built in pieces on a race car, not caring about the details that it takes to make speed.”

Ryan Preece explains why he loves Celsius

After finishing outside the top 15 in three of the first four races, Ryan Preece earned a P3 finish at Las Vegas, a P9 finish at Homestead and a P7 finish at Martinsville. The disqualification on Sunday was a hit to Preece in the playoff standings and Cup points, but is still in a good position as he’s 18th in Cup points and 19th in the playoff standings.”

During the Talladega race, Preece was driving the No. 60 that included Kroger and Celsius on his paint scheme. Preece is a big fan of Celsius and revealed what he loved most about the product.

“For me, it’s pretty easy just because whenever I feel like I’m going into my shop, I always feel like I need a little something to help me focus anyways and help organize my thoughts and kind of put that list together,” Preece explained. “And then not only just go and crank out that list, but do it in a good manner that’s productive.

“So for me, it’s always nice to go and before I go into the shop or as I’m working, be able to drink one. And you feel intentional, you feel focused, and it’s a nice way to start my time in the shop, especially because I am a morning person. I get up really early, but I see my phone stops ringing or there’s less things that I need to do at that 7:00 to 10:00 window and I’d rather be in bed getting ready to go sleep. So it’s certainly something nice to help dig a little deeper and do a lot that I have going on in my shop.”
