Could tonight finally be the night? Sheldon Creed has a win on his mind after earning the pole for the Xfinity Series race at Atlanta. EchoPark Speedway is making its debut tonight. Creed will lead the NASCAR field to green in the No. 00.
Sheldon Creed is still searching for that first career win in the Xfinity Series. He will, for now, just take his fourth career pole award.
Just as the second round of qualifying was underway, Aric Almirola completed a lap. Then, lightning in the area put the track on a hold. As a result, NASCAR went by the first round qualifying results and set the order.

Sheldon Creed’s former teammate and frenemy, Austin Hill is starting P2. Then Sam Mayer, Brandon Jones, Jesse Love, Connor Zilisch, Taylor Gray, CJ McLaughlin, Harrison Burton, and Aric Almirola make up the rest of the top-10.
This being a drafting, superspeedway-style track, there were supposed to be two rounds in qualifying. Those top-10 drivers were going to go one more time around the track at EchoPark Speedway. However, the lightning showed up and shut down the show.
McLaughlin was the big surprise in qualifying. It is by far his best result in his NASCAR career. Katherine Legge gets her best start of the season in P23. Here are the full qualifying results from Atlanta.

The race tonight will be another test for Sheldon Creed. He needs to dig deep and find a way to finally get that first Xfinity win.
Last season, Sheldon Creed found himself runner-up six times. It was heartbreaking. Daytona, Sonoma, New Hampshire, Michigan, Watkins Glen, and Bristol. He found a way to do it on literally every kind of track that NASCAR races on, for the most part.
The last time he started on pole, he finished P2 at Michigan. This season, at Haas Factory Team, Creed has had a DNF issue. He had three DNFs all season in 2024, and two in 2023. So far in 2025, Creed has five DNFs. He looks like he could be on pace to match his 2022 total of nine.
Haas is going to get a win this season. Whether that happens with Creed or his teammate, Sam Mayer, remains to be seen.
Going into the race tonight, all eyes will be on Sheldon Creed. He has four top-five finishes this season. He was P14 at Atlanta earlier this season. Can he finally get the monkey off his back and get to victory lane?
