Sherry Pollex loses battle with cancer, dies at age 44

Longtime children’s cancer research advocate, Sherry Pollex lost her own battle with ovarian cancer, she was 44 years old. Pollex has been a fixture in the NASCAR community for many years. Her advocacy for others and her own personal fight inspired thousands of people.

The family of Sherry Pollex released a statement on the matter. There has also been an outpouring of support from NASCAR drivers Fans, and others in the sport have also reached out. It is a tough day for those who knew her and were inspired by her work.

“Please join our family in thanking God for giving us Sherry, she’s such an incredible expression of love that will live on. We will continue her legacy of love and caring for those in need as she will always be alive in our hearts.”

The Catwalk for a Cause was this past week. It is an event many look forward to attending and seeing online. Sherry Pollex made a massive impact with just that event alone. That’s not to mention all of her other work in cancer research advocacy and fundraising.

Many fans will remember Sherry was the former partner of Martin Truex Jr. After the two split up at the beginning of the year they expressed they would still support one another moving forward. For all of her friends, family, and loved ones, it is a tragic loss.
