Alon Day had an amazing journey to compete in the next two ARCA events. On Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, co-host Kaitlyn Vincie detailed Day’s story about getting to the United States from Israel to get to the ARCA race at Lime Rock.
“When he was getting set to come to the United States is when everything happened with Iran,” Vincie said. “Basically, the Israeli people were told, ‘Hey, prepare for whatever is going to happen.’ Of course, he immediately had to figure out how he was going to get to the United States.”
Vincie also said that Alon Day tried to get flights through Jordan and Egypt. “But he ended up taking a boat for 30-some hours to the country of Cyprus, which is in the Mediterranean,” she added. And then from there, he came to the U.S., 66 hours to be at the race. He finished second and he’ll be racing in Sonoma.”
Before the Lime Rock race, Day spoke to Vincie about his journey. The 33-year-old said he left his pregnant wife and family to make the long journey. He said he was “happy to be here,” and loves “racing in America.”
Day drove the No. 25 Toyota Camry for Venturini Motorsports. In May, Venturini Motorsports announced that Day would drive the car in three ARCA events. The first was Lime Rock, the second will be at Sonoma on July 11, and the third will be Watkins Glen on Aug. 9.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to be back in America to compete with Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Series,” Day said at the time. “I’m truly grateful to my sponsor, JSSI, for supporting me and giving me this chance to bring my talents back to the track in America.”
“Alon is an accomplished driver on the world stage and we are excited to have such a top-level road course driver racing under the Venturini Motorsports banner for these three races,” Billy Venturini, owner and general manager of Venturini Motorsports, said. Alon Day won the NASCAR Euro Series in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2022. He has also competed in two Truck Series, three Xfinity Series and two Cup Series races in his career.
