Along with a win in one of NASCAR's crown jewel events, Ty Dillon and Ty Gibbs are racing for a $1 million paycheck in Sunday's Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Dillon and Gibbs are the last two men standing, five weeks after NASCAR's inaugural In-Season Challenge began at EchoPark Speedway on June 28.
Dillon, the No. 32 seed, has been the Cinderella story of the 2025 season.
"Last couple weeks have been a bit of whirlwind," Dillon said in a news conference at IMS on Saturday. "It's been very fun. I appreciate the fact that Kaulig Racing, Chris Rice, Matt Kaulig aren't afraid to pause and say, 'hey, this is a good thing. Let's take this moment in'."
Even amid a season that hasn't been great for Dillon — he's 30th in points through 21 races — the momentum gathered throughout the tournament has been helpful.
Gibbs, meanwhile, has been on a tear throughout the tournament. He sits 16th in the regular season standings and is only 52 points out of a playoff spot with five races remaining in the regular season after scoring three consecutive top-10 finishes.
"Hopefully I'm in front, of course," Gibbs said in a news conference on Saturday. "But our main goal this weekend is to go win the race. Maybe if we don't do that, you try to finish the best you can and if that's better than him (Dillon), we win."
Initial signs point to Gibbs being the heavy favorite to beat Dillon head-to-head, but Dillon's lone Xfinity Series win came at Indy back in 2014. A repeat performance would lead to the latest chapter in what has been an incredible underdog run for Dillon and the No. 10 team.
