Ty Majeski wins pole for NASCAR Truck Series opener at Daytona

Ty Majeski will lead the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field to the green flag to kick off the 2026 season.

Majeski was the fastest driver in the first round of qualifying and maintained his speed in the second round, clocking with a time of 50.881 seconds and a speed of 176.883 miles per hour.

The pole is the 12th of Majeski's Truck Series career and his third at Daytona.

Notable qualifying results

2021 Daytona 500 champion Michael McDowell will join Majeski on the front row, with Tanner Gray, Carson Hocevar and Grant Enfinger rounding out the top-five. Tyler Ankrum, Kaden Honeycutt, Jake Garcia, Gio Ruggiero and Chandler Smith completed the top-10.

Other notable qualifying efforts include Christian Eckes in 11th, Cleetus McFarland in 12th, Travis Pastrana in 13th, Tony Stewart in 15th and Layne Riggs in 35th.

Toni Breidinger, Norm Benning, Greg Van Alst, Tyler Tomassi, Justin Carroll, Bryan Dauzat and Timmy Hill failed to qualify, with Mini Tyrrell receiving a starting spot due to a manufacturer provisional.

Thirty-seven trucks will take the green flag on Friday evening. Coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET on FS1 and at 7 on NRN, with the green flag flying shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET.
