Watch: Denny Hamlin’s daughter predicts Christopher Bell will win the 2024 NASCAR Cup title
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The 2024 NASCAR Cup season got an early start this season as the unofficial season opener, the LA Clash at the Colosseum, was postponed following severe rain. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin won the event and set the tone for the new season. Seven champions and multiple talented youngsters are ready to tackle 36-point paying races to succeed at Phoenix.

During the recent episode of his podcast Action Detrimental, Hamlin asked his daughter, 11-year-old Taylor, who she thinks will win the 2024 Championship. He specifically asked her not to pick him. Taylor predicted that Joe Gibbs Racing No:20 Toyota Camry driver Christopher Bell would secure his maiden championship this season.

Bell is one of the most underrated drivers in the NASCAR Cup garage, producing impressive races in the Next-Gen era. He is the only driver to make it into the NASCAR Cup Championship-4 in 2022 and 2023 and is the only Toyota driver to do it while his veteran teammates have consistently failed to make it past R-8 in the Next-Gen era.

Bell had an impressive 2023 season that saw him score two race wins and multiple poles on his way to the season finale, only to have a break issue running his championship hopes. He has won five Cup races in the last two years, and the 29-year-old has no plans to stop the progression. Bell seems more determined than ever to prove his actual worth to the Cup garage this year.

Christopher Bell has huge hopes for the championship this season

Bell, while recently talking to Fox Sports about his goals for the 2024 season, confirmed that he is confident that he would be able to secure a championship-4 entry for a third straight season and make it into the elite list of third consecutive final four entry record that is presently have five racers.

Alongside securing the record final-four appearance, he also wants to be in title contention this season, as he believes making it into the final four has become the minimum target for him in the Next-Gen era.

I don’t know, think I’m just another guy out there, but certainly for me, myself, and the 20 team. I believe that we should be in the Championship 4 every year. Circumstances are very hard to get there [Championship 4]. So, I am proud of the fact that we’ve gotten there two years in a row but I expect to be in title contention every year. Bell told Fox Sports.
