Watch: Keelan Harvick drives full-body stock car for the first time under the guidance of Kevin Harvick
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Having multiple generations of racers or sibling racers in the Motorsports is common worldwide. This is because talent isn’t the sole factor to make in racing, as money and connections are major factors needed to get into the premier divisions. While there is some negative side to this nepotism culture, this also has given motorsports some legends.

The Petty family, the Earnhardt’s, the Jarret’s, Busch’s …the list is long in NASCAR. Racing families are a huge part of NASCAR and its legacy. Among the current generation of racers, Cup champions Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott are some of former racers. Retired NASCAR Champion Kevin Harvick is on the path to potentially adding his son to the list.

The 2014 Cup Champion’s son, Keelan Harvick , is a regular in his age group’s Karting scene and other racing series. He recently had his first experience behind the wheels of a full-body stock car. Keelan drove Ron Hornaday Jr.’s street stock that Travis Hanson drives for VETS Racing. His father, Kevin Harvick, was at the facility monitoring his progress.

Keelan Harvick posted a video of his track experience on social media, tanking Hornaday Jr. and Hanson for the opportunity. Kevin Harvick shared the same with the caption, “Don’t tell mom.”  He was alluding to the fact that just like every other race, moms, regardless of their age, are terrified when their children are driving fast cars on the track.
