One of the favorites to win Sunday's Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway is out early.
2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion and 2023 Southern 500 winner Kyle Larson started the Goodyear 400 in 19th. On Lap 4 of 293, Larson was battling three-time Cup Series champion Joey Logano for 18th when Larson's Chevrolet snapped loose on the exit of turn two, sending Larson spinning.
Larson's No. 5 - decked out with a throwback paint scheme to two-time champion and 2003 Southern 500 winner Terry Labonte - spun down the backstretch, making hard contact with the inside wall.

The crash relegated Larson to last place (38th) and at the least, will take him out of contention for the race win. If Larson does indeed retire from the race, he will finish last in 38th.
Larson came into Sunday's race second in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings, having collected four consecutive top-10 finishes, including a win at Homestead.
