Watch: Ross Chastain confidently claims he can win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship with ‘evolving’ Trackhouse Racing
Alex Gould/Special for The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

Within three years of its establishment, Trackhouse Racing has established itself as a team capable of winning the championship in the Cup Series. The Chevy team that started as a one-car operation in 2021 now has two full-time drivers, a part-time Cup car project, and three developmental drivers with high sealing in their garage.

No:1 Chevy Camero ZL1 driver Ross Chastain is arguably their most promising racer, who would most probably win a Cup title before retirement. Just like most in the NASCAR garage, Chastain also believes the same. During the NASCAR production days, he revealed that he is confident that a Cup title triumph with Trackhouse is possible for him.

I do. … Don’t need many words. I know my group, know our processes. As we continue to evolve we’ve sustained a second year and plan on a third year, so that’s all we ask for is a chance to contend, a chance to go compete and as long as we have a chance, then I do [believe]. Chastain told Fox Sports.

Chastain made his Trackhouse debut in 2022 after Justin Marks and Pitbull acquired the No:1 Car charter and Chip Ganassi Racing assets. He was the driver for the cars they took over. Since then, he has won four races with the team, including the 2024 season finale at Phoenix. The Championship P2 finish in 2022 behind Joey Logano has been his best result so far for the team.

Ross Chastain is an established superstar of NASCAR

Within his two-year spell with a competitive Trackhouse Racing car, Chastin has established himself as a fan favorite and entertainer. His aggressive on-track antics, risk-taking mentality, the fight with Noah Gragson, and more helped him become one of the few drivers who can be viewed as a marketable personality of the sport.

Busch Light signing with Trackhouse Racing to sponsor Chastain proves he is going in the right direction. They are known for signing drivers with charter and appeal among fans. Kevin Harvick was their driver till he retired in 2023. Now, Chastain will take up the spot.

Chastain is expected to be among the championship contenders in 2024, and he has to match this expectation by winning multiple races on the way to the playoffs. He will be hoping to have a solid season in 2024, starting with this Sunday’s LA Clash.
