Where the NASCAR Truck Series playoff picture stands after Michigan

Stewart Friesen's win at Michigan shook up the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series playoff picture in a big way. Here's where the playoff bubble stands with five races remaining in the regular season.

7. Grant Enfinger (+52)

Enfinger came oh-so-close to locking himself into the playoffs with a win, but a runner-up finish keeps him nearly a full race above the cut line. He should feel the most confident of any driver currently on the bubble about making the postseason.

8. Layne Riggs (+35)

It's surprising that Riggs 'only' has a 35-point advantage to the cut line through 13 races, given how much speed he's had this season. A 10th-place finish at Michigan is a decent day, but the No. 34 team wants to — and is capable of — winning a race before the playoffs begin.

9. Kaden Honeycutt (+19)

Honeycutt has more than enough speed to point his way into the playoffs, but more results like his 20th-place finish at Michigan certainly won't help his bid for a playoff berth. The No. 45 team can't afford to be complacent over the final five races of the regular season.

10. Ty Majeski (+4)

It's hard to believe that Majeski is currently the only driver from the ThorSport Racing to be inside the playoff picture at the moment, but the defending champion is by no means safe. Races at IRP (July 25) and Richmond (Aug. 15) are likely circled for the No. 98 team as Majeski looks to defend his title.

11. Jake Garcia (-4)

In his second season at ThorSport, Garcia has been consistent. A seventh-place finish at Michigan is proof enough of that, but he'll need that level of consistency — and maybe more — if he wants to make the playoffs for the first time.

12. Ben Rhodes (-55)

Something has gone horribly wrong for Rhodes, who barely squeaked into the playoffs a year ago and is reeling this season. The two-time champion is nearly in a must-win situation with five regular season races remaining, and with a lack of speed under the hood of the No. 99, it may take a miracle for Rhodes to get back to victory lane.

13. Gio Ruggiero (-56)

Rookie Ruggierio notched a solid 12th-place finish at Michigan, but like Rhodes, he's encroaching on a must-win situation. The good news? The No. 17 team actually has speed on a consistent basis, and if Ruggiero can capture lightning in a bottle, he can be a threat to win at any of the five remaining regular season races.

14. Tanner Gray (-96)

Unlike Rhodes and Ruggiero, Gray's status of being in a must-win situation is confirmed. None of the five tracks left in the regular season stand out in particular, but the No. 15 needs a win if Gray is to finally make the Truck Series playoffs for the first time.
