The practice and qualifying sessions for the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Darlington are on hold due to lightning in the area. Severe weather north of the track has started to leak down near the track.

The Craftsman Truck Series is going racing tonight. That is if they can keep the track dry enough. Xfinity Series practice and qualifying aren’t going to happen, though. The lightning and rain just showed up at the wrong time.

Let’s hope this weather comes and goes and gives us time to watch the Truck Series race tonight. The Xfinity Series weekend isn’t off to a great start at Darlington. Good news, it should be good weather for Saturday and Sunday.

With Xfinity Series activities canceled at Darlington, eyes are on the Truck Series. There is a chance that we don’t see racing tonight. If that happens, I believe there is time on Saturday to get the Truck Series race in, but that would likely be after the Xfinity race.

Cole Custer will start on the pole tomorrow in the Xfinity Series. He has come so close to winning this season but hasn’t been able to get it done. Custer and that No. 00 team are hoping for a big Saturday to get them into Victory Lane.

Xfinity Series at Darlington faces weather issues

The Truck Series was able to go through practice and qualifying. So, NASCAR fans were able to watch some on-track action today. However, those Xfinity drivers are going to have a tall task ahead of them without any practice at Darlington.

During the Truck Series qualifying round, Nick Sanchez was fastest. He was able to easily win the pole by more than a tenth of a second. It was an impressive qualifying lap. There was an issue with his truck and an adjustment was made so he will actually start in the rear when the trucks go racing.

This season has been a lot of fun in the Xfinity and Truck Series. There are a lot of drivers who could win week in and week out. Both championship races are wide open with no one truly dominating yet.

William Byron is racing in the Xfinity Series race at Darlington along with Aric Almirola. They will both be hard to beat for this young field. Meanwhile, Ross Chastain and Kyle Busch are taking on the Truck Series drivers. Should be a lot of fun, let’s hope we see some racing tonight.
