It was another disappointing season last year for the Chicago Bulls as they missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
Of course, the Bulls have been stuck in a rebuild for many years now which has allowed them to add some key young players to their roster to help them turn things around such as Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, Matas Buzelis and 2025 first-round pick Noe Essengue.
Chicago is also expected to have restricted free agent Josh Giddey back this season as the two sides continue to go through negotiations on a new contract.
While the Bulls continue their rebuild, they may look to make more moves ahead of the trade deadline to add more young talent to their roster along with more draft capital and here are three players who are potential trade candidates entering the new season.
Nikola Vucevic has been in trade rumors over the last handful of seasons but he has not drawn much interest from other teams around the NBA.
That could change this season, though, as the 34-year-old center is on an expiring contract and could be a solid addition to a contending team looking to upgrade their center position.
For Vucevic, he is a great rebounder and scorer, especially from 3-point range and it is likely that the Bulls will continue to shop him ahead of the trade deadline so that they avoid potentially losing him for nothing next summer in free agency.
Patrick Williams was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 draft but he has yet to live up to his high expectations entering the NBA.
Of course, Williams has struggled to stay healthy during his five seasons in the league as he has played in 70 or more games just twice, though he did suit up for 63 games last season.
Despite this, the Bulls will likely continue to search for a new home for Williams this season and teams around the league may be intrigued that they could develop him into the player people expected him to be coming out of college.
The Bulls acquired Kevin Huerter from the Sacramento Kings in the three-team trade that sent De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs while Chicago sent Zach LaVine to Sacramento.
The 27-year-old guard is a great 3-point shooter who put together a solid second half of the season last year in Chicago after struggling in Sacramento.
With contending teams on the hunt to add more 3-point shooters to their roster, Huerter may draw interest from other teams around the league this season as he continues to be in trade rumors.
Of course, the Bulls have many trade options on their roster entering the 2025-26 season as they continue to try and turn things around in the Windy City, which could prompt them to make moves ahead of the deadline.
