3 Players the Philadelphia 76ers Could Target in a Trade During 2025-26 NBA Season
Kyle Ross-Imagn Images

Last season was a rough one for the Philadelphia 76ers as they finished with a 24-58 record, which was the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Most of Philadelphia’s struggles last season were caused by their star duo of Joel Embiid and Paul George missing substantial amounts of time due to injury.

Now with both players set to enter the new season healthy, the 76ers will look to bounce back after last year’s struggles as they try to claim a top seed in the East behind Embiid, George, Maxey, V.J. Edgecomb and Jared McCain.

Of course, the 76ers could also look to make some additions to their roster ahead of the trade deadline to potentially make a run at a championship and if that is the case, these three players could be possible trade targets.

Sam Hauser

While Sam Hauser has survived the Boston Celtics’ roster reconstruction this offseason, he has still found himself in trade rumors and it would not be a surprise to see Boston move him this season.

The 27-year-old forward is a great 3-point shooter who would give the 76ers a much-needed scoring option off the bench, especially with them looking to move Kelly Oubre Jr.

Despite this, Hauser will likely draw attention from many teams around the NBA if the Celtics look to move him which could cause the 76ers to have to win a bidding war for the former champion.

Obi Toppin

Obi Toppin has been in trade rumors for most of the offseason with the Indiana Pacers likely heading towards a disappointing season with the injury to Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner leaving in free agency.

Because of this, the 27-year-old forward could be on the move this season and the 76ers could be a potential landing spot as they are in need of forward depth.

For Toppin, he is a great scorer and rebounder who proved to be a key piece to a title contending team last season who could be a solid addition to Philadelphia’s bench.

Royce O’Neale

Like both Toppin and Hauser, Royce O’Neale has also been in trade rumors this offseason as the Phoenix Suns have completely rebuilt their roster.

The 32-year-old forward is a reliable scorer and defender who could be a solid fit off the bench for the 76ers.

O’Neale would give the 76ers a much-needed 3-and-D wing off the bench that they currently lack while also giving them another veteran leader.

While Philadelphia could target all three of these players, they could also look elsewhere to upgrade their roster ahead of the trade deadline if their stars are able to stay healthy this season.
