3 Potential Trade Targets for Raptors This Offseason

The Toronto Raptors have had a disappointing season thus far as they continue their rebuild.

Toronto currently sits 13th in the Eastern Conference standings with an 18-41 record. Of course, the Raptors were not expected to be a playoff team this season as they are still rebuilding, and they are positioning themselves to have a top pick in the loaded 2025 draft.

Of course, the Raptors could also look to upgrade their roster via trade in the offseason as well as through the draft and Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley recently named three potential trade targets for them in the offseason.

The three players Buckley named were Jalen Smith, Kyle Anderson and Dalton Knecht.

Smith would be a great fit in Toronto, especially if the Raptors decide to let Chris Boucher walk in free agency and opt to trade Jakob Poeltl. Smith has had a solid season thus far for the Chicago Bulls, who may elect to keep him around, but if the Raptors were able to land him, he could become their center of the future.

Anderson would also be a solid fit in Toronto as he would bring a veteran presence to the team. Of course, Anderson was dealt to the Miami Heat at the trade deadline and he could be moved again in the offseason. If the Raptors were to acquire him, he would be a great fit off the bench and could also be moved at next season’s trade deadline to help the Raptors acquire more assets.

The third player Buckley mentioned was Knecht. Of course, Knecht was part of the rescinded trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets at the deadline, and the Lakers could look to move him in the offseason to upgrade their roster, especially if they were able to land Poeltl from Toronto.

Knecht would give the Raptors another great young player to build around and would be a great fit either in the starting lineup or off the bench thanks to his offensive productivity.

All three players Buckley named would be solid fits in Toronto, but the Raptors could elect to continue to build around their current young core for the future.
