3 Trade Options the Golden State Warriors Could Pursue During 2025-26 NBA Season

It has been a rough offseason thus far for the Golden State Warriors as they have failed to make any additions to their roster outside of the 2025 draft.

Of course, the main reason for the Warriors’ lack of moves this summer is the ongoing situation involving restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga as he has turned down Golden State’s contract offer.

Due to this, Golden State has missed out on multiple free agent targets that they could pair alongside their core of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.

Despite this, it has been reported that they do have deals in place with multiple free agents that will become finalized after Kuminga’s situation is resolved.

While that may be the case, the Warriors may look to make more moves ahead of the trade deadline to better their chances of making a title run and if they choose to do so, they could target these three players.

Walker Kessler

The Warriors are in desperate need of frontcourt help entering the new season and Walker Kessler could be a potential center they could target ahead of the trade deadline.

For Kessler, he has been in trade rumors over the past few seasons, though the Utah Jazz have a high asking price for him.

Despite this, acquiring the young big man would give the Warriors a much-needed starting center who is a great scorer, rebounder and defender who would also become a key piece of their future due to his age.

Trey Murphy III

Golden State has been linked to Trey Murphy III for most of the offseason, though it has been reported that the New Orleans Pelicans have an extremely high asking price for him.

For Murphy III, he has turned into a young star for the Pelicans on both ends of the court over the past few seasons and while Golden State has been linked to him this summer, the two sides have been unable to work out a deal.

While that may be the case, that could change this season as the 25-year-old forward would be a solid addition to Golden State’s lineup depending on how large of a trade package they would have to send New Orleans.

Anfernee Simons

Anfernee Simons has already been traded once this offseason as he was sent from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Boston Celtics in the Jrue Holiday trade and it would not be a surprise to see him on the move again ahead of the trade deadline.

The 26-year-old guard would be a solid addition to Golden State’s roster as he would give the Warriors another great scorer in their starting lineup who should be a solid fit next to Curry.

Despite this, Boston will likely seek a large trade package in return, though that may change if Simons continues to draw no interest from around the league.

While Golden State could target these players, they could also look elsewhere ahead of the deadline to try to bolster their roster to make a title run.
