It was reported at the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend that Kevin Durant of the Houston Rockets allegedly has a burner account on X where he disparages his coaches and teammates, both past and present. As Durant was repeatedly spotted glued to his phone, rumors regarding his purported burner account began to flare up.

None of the reports has offered solid evidence that the burner account belongs to Durant. However, fans online continue to link the Rockets star to the account. On Wednesday’s practice, the four-time scoring champion was asked about his thoughts on it. However, KD shut down the drama around it.

“I know you gotta ask these questions, but I’m not here to get into Twitter nonsense,” Durant said. “My teammates know what it is, we’ve been locked in the whole season.

Kevin Durant is more focused on the second half of the season for the Rockets. They are 33-20 in the Western Conference and have 29 games left. Durant and the team are focused on a strong second half of the season as they head into the playoffs in a few weeks.

Max Kellerman dismissed Kevin Durant having a burner account

Others disagree with the notion that Durant has a burner account. Famed boxing commentator Max Kellerman thinks there isn’t enough evidence to prove that the account belongs to the two-time champion.

“There is a story out there that I have not seen compelling evidence to verify,” Kellerman said. “Like, people are like, ‘Oh, this is Kevin Durant’s burner account because someone claims they were in a chat with Kevin Durant and they saw some avatars,’ whatever. But it doesn’t sound like they have something concrete.”

In the NBA, Durant is arguably the most engaged with his fans and critics. He often responds to comments made about him or something about his career. This has led many to think that he could have a few burner accounts on X. He also admitted to using burner accounts in the past.

However, Kellerman is in favor of additional hard and tangible proof regarding the latest X concerns surrounding KD.
