Even with LeBron James getting set to enter NBA season No. 23 of his storied career, he continues to play at an All-Star level. While the living legend is now 40 years old, there has been little to no drop off in his play.
And for that reason, fellow All-Star, Luka Doncic, signed an extension to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers. The team now appears to be headed into the 2025-26 NBA season with championship-or-bust expectations.
And that's another reason why one of James' former teammates is reportedly looking to reunite with James and play for the Lakers.
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Kevin Love hopes to bring his talents to Los Angeles. Love wants to either reunite with James on the Lakers or play for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Love was recently part of a three-way trade that sent John Collins to the Clippers, Norman Powell to the Miami Heat, and Love to the Utah Jazz.
Reportedly, Love hopes he'll be able to negotiate a buyout with the Jazz, opening him up to sign with another team. The 37-year-old, former Most Improved Player of the Year (2011), played four total seasons with James, all with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2014 to 2018.
The duo won an NBA championship together during the 2015-16 NBA season.
While this appears to be Love's desires, as he was born in Santa Monica and played his college basketball at UCLA, the Lakers and Clippers aren't currently in a situation where they could easily acquire Love.
According to Siegel, the Lakers currently sit just $1.1 million from the second apron, hard salary cap. And the Clippers find themselves in a similar situation just $1.2 million from reaching the the same salary cap.
Love has been named an All-Star five times in 17 seasons. Last season he averaged 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game in 23 games played for the Heat.
