76ers’ ArtButMakeItSports schedule release is genius

Basketball is art. Especially if you ask the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 76ers will likely be the most scrutinized team in the upcoming season after forming the Mona Lisa of rosters with Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, VJ Edgecombe, and Tyrese Maxey. Philadelphia is already tagged as the heavy favorite to rule the Eastern Conference.

The 76ers announced their schedule for the upcoming season with a creative gimmick, collaborating with ArtButMakeItSports, the popular page known for comparing classical art paintings with modern sports photographs.

It featured the mastepieces of Giacomo Balla, Henry Lyman Sayen, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Benjamin West, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Horace Pippin, etc. alongside pictures of Embiid, Brown, Edgcombe, Maxey, and even Allen Iverson.

“Schedule release collab with the Sixers is live, featuring art from Philly institutions and/or Philly artists! Had a ton of fun with this one,” announced ArtButMakeItSports, which was created by LJ Rader, on X.

Fans appreciated the cool idea.

“Need this collab every season,” said @bentleyDOTmp3.

“I’m crying actual tears of joy?” added @sophiebiblio.

“This is the exact energy Philly schedules deserve after years of getting the absolute worst slots imaginable. Finally feels like someone noticed we’re more than just a backup plan,” wrote @luciaenergyreal.

The 76ers will face the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on opening night on October 20, followed by a clash with the Cleveland Cavaliers at Xfinity Mobile Arena on October 22.

They will face the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on Christmas Day.
