The Philadelphia 76ers brought good news on Tuesday. President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced that they've re-signed veteran guard Eric Gordon to a one-year, $3.6 million veteran minimum contract. Gordon had a $3.5 million player option, which he declined before agreeing to a new deal with the 76ers.
Last season, Gordon appeared in 39 games for Philadelphia. He played a veteran role and was limited to 19.7 minutes per game. He couldn't finish the 2024-25 campaign and was shut down by the 76ers after he underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right wrist.
The 2017 Sixth Man of the Year finished the year with 6.8 points and 1.7 assists on 40.9% shooting from deep.
The 76ers released a statement regarding the return of Gordon to the team.
"Eric is a prolific shot maker whose ability to space the floor will serve our rotation well. He's been a great fit on and off the court with this organization and we're fortunate to have him back," Morey said.

Having Gordon back is a good sign for rookie guard VJ Edgecombe. The two were teammates at the Bahamian national team in 2023. Following the organization's draft selection, Edgecombe said he was happy to have a teammate in the NBA that he already knew.
"Man, it means a lot. It's crazy me and EG are teammates now. EG is old, man. I tell him all the time, he's old, man... [Having] someone I already know on the team, that can help me," the No. 3 pick of the 2025 NBA draft said.
Gordon will enter his 18th season in the NBA and will try to help the team contend for an NBA title.
