76ers' Paul George News Emerges on Monday

The Philadelphia 76ers have yet to have the services of Paul George on the court this NBA season. The 35-year-old forward joined the franchise last season as a free agent, making a huge offseason switch from the Los Angeles Clippers to the 76ers. However, George had an injury-riddled debut campaign with the 76ers and has yet to make his 25-26 season debut for the franchise.

The 76ers have started the season 7-5, primarily led by guard Tyrese Maxey. Former MVP Joel Embiid has been a high-level contributor but is playing through restricted minutes to help protect his health. The franchise looks capable of making noise in the East after going 24-58 last season, provided their stars can stay healthy.

George averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 41 games last season in a disappointing campaign. He's missed the first 12 games of the season due to rehab from offseason knee surgery, but it seems like his time to return is finally upon us.

ESPN's Shams Charania has revealed that George is expected to make his season debut with the 76ers tonight in a clash against his former Clippers at 7 p.m. (ET).

"Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George is expected to make his season debut at home tonight against his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, sources tell ESPN. George has rehabilitated from offseason left knee surgery."

The 76ers saw last season upended by injuries to their star trio, but this season has started out in more encouraging fashion. Maxey is looking like an All-Star, averaging xxx and leading the franchise from the front. The supporting cast featuring Kelly Oubre Jr., V.J. Edgecombe, Quentin Grimes and more have performed their duties exceedingly well as well.

George's return comes at a great time for the franchise. Embiid is currently ruled out due to injury management on his knee and the franchise lost Kelly Oubre Jr. to a left knee sprain last week.

The Clippers are expected to rule out Derrick Jones Jr (knee), Kawhi Leonard (ankle) and Bradley Beal (hip), with Beal already ruled out for the entire season. Bogdan Bogdanovic (hip) has been listed as questionable.
