The Philadelphia 76ers have something to prove after their latest two-game stretch. While it’s been a successful season overall, the combination of injuries and uninspiring play has resulted in a two-game skid.

Among those on the injury report last week was the Sixers’ starting forward, Tobias Harris. Heading into the Sixers’ Friday night matchup against the New York Knicks, Harris suited up for his 34th consecutive game of the year. Despite having minor setbacks at times throughout the season, he had yet to miss a game at that time.

After a 24-minute shift against the Knicks, Harris left for the locker room. Shortly after, he was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to ankle soreness. After the matchup, Sixers head coach Nick Nurse confirmed that initial tests indicated that Harris was dealing with soreness and nothing more.

At the time, Nurse had hoped that Harris would be questionable for the following game, which took place less than 24 hours after the Sixers fell short against the Knicks. While the Sixers were hoping to have Harris in the lineup, he was ruled out against the Utah Jazz

Last Saturday became Harris’ first absence since last season.

The Sixers fell short against the Jazz, losing by an 11-point deficit. They had three days off to follow. On Monday, the Sixers returned to the practice facility. Harris was a participant in the team’s session.

When the Sixers returned for a second-straight session on Tuesday, Harris was a participant once again. Barring any unexpected changes, Harris is on pace to face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, as he’s been left off the injury report, deeming him available for the matchup.

In Harris’ 34 appearances this season, he’s averaged 34 minutes on the court. In that time, Harris averaged 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists. He’s knocked down 51 percent of his shots and 36 percent of his threes.

The Sixers and the Hawks are set to battle it out at 7 PM ET. on Wednesday.
