After years of trade rumors regarding Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal, it feels increasingly likely this time that a deal may be imminent.

Beal, who signed a five-year deal worth $251 million last summer, has seen his trade value decrease recently both due to his high price and the fact that he's missed significant time with injuries the past two years.
However, he'd still be an extremely valuable player in the right role, a role where he's not asked to be the star but rather a second or third option on a team with title aspirations. A player like him should be netting at least one asset with the potential to turn into something special for Washington, and the Wizards shouldn't accept anything less.
Some of the rumored Beal trades do not meet those standards. The Kings, for instance, don't have a high draft pick and don't really have any players with star upside besides De'Aaron Fox or Domantas Sabonis, who they almost certainly aren't trading.
The Heat and Bucks, two other suggested landing spots, are in the same boat. The Heat's potential offer is rumored to be centered around Tyler Herro, while Milwaukee would possibly be sending Khris Middleton. Both are low-upside players who are essentially lesser versions of Beal.
The Portland Trail Blazers would be an ideal scenario. Portland currently possesses the No. 3 pick in this year's draft, which could end up being highly-touted point guard Scoot Henderson. Henderson is the type of player with the potential to change the trajectory of a franchise.
The Wizards have needed a fresh start for a while, and it is probably the right time to give Beal one, too. However, they should only trade him at the right price, and getting rid of him solely to be rid of his contract would be disappointing.
