A trade proposal sends Zach LaVine to the Great White North
USA TODAY Sports

Don’t let the Chicago Bulls’ two-game winning streak distract you from the fact that this is a flawed team in need of personnel change. While reports have indicated the Bulls are having difficulty trading All-Star wingman Zach LaVine, Dan Favale has formulated a trade proposal that may benefit the Bulls and the Toronto Raptors.

Send LaVine to the Raptors for numerous assets

LaVine is an incredible player capable of torrid scoring bursts and feats of athletic greatness. It’s just that his moments of brilliance haven’t often translated to team success; his latest stint with the Bulls attests to that. However, a change of scenery may be exactly what the guard needs to reach his potential truly.

Favale proposes sending LaVine and Terry Taylor to the Raptors in exchange for multiple assets, highlighted by two first-round picks, shooting guard Gary Trent Jr., big man Precious Achiuwa, and young studs Chris Boucher and Gradey Dick.

“Exiting any trade with two firsts, a recent lottery pick, and a smattering of short-term contracts is a win for the Bulls at this point,” Favale wrote for Bleacher Report.

Solidifies the roster

This trade will subtract one All-Star from the Bulls’ equation, but the addition of solid role players will help balance the roster better.

“Boucher, Dick, and GTJ all help stretch the floor around DeMar DeRozan while beefing up depth across the 2-3-4 slots. The Achiuwa experience is not nearly as tantalizing as it was 18 months ago, but the Bulls can experiment with some frisky, turbocharged frontcourt setups that feature him (or Boucher) at the 5,” Favale added.
