NBA commissioner Adam Silver opened his Board of Governors press conference Wednesday by noting that the league’s three new national TV partners — ESPN/ABC, Amazon and NBC — were in New York this week for meetings with the league.
Silver said the discussions focused on “a bunch of different avenues” for how the sides will work together under the league’s new 11-year, $76 billion broadcast agreement.
That deal, announced in July, will bring the NBA back to NBC for the first time since 2002 and adds Amazon Prime Video as a streaming partner, joining longtime broadcaster ESPN/ABC.
Starting this season, fans will be able to watch national games nearly every day of the week across the three platforms.
Silver described the talks as an important early step in setting the tone for the next era of NBA broadcasting.
