Back in September, ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski shocked the world when he announced his retirement from the news industry. He left the network to become the general manager of the men's basketball team for St. Bonaventure.
Wojnarowski graduated from St. Bonaventure in 1991. While basketball fans were shocked by his sudden departure from ESPN, he made it clear that he was simply ready to go back home.
"It is a thrill of a lifetime to be able to return to a university and community that I love in a role of service to our student-athletes, coaches and institution," Wojnarowski told ESPN. "I am hopeful that I can bring value in a lot of areas to our basketball program and open doors for our young men's futures in ways both professionally and personally."
Fast forward to mid-March, and St. Bonaventure landed a commitment from the SoCal JC Player of the Year.
On Thursday morning, Jonathan Givony of ESPN announced that Joe Grahovac is taking his talents to St. Bonaventure.
"Joe Grahovac, SoCal JC player of the year, has committed to St. Bonaventure," Givony said. "The 6-foot-10 power forward from Fullerton College drew a steady stream of NBA scouts to watch him this season. Should have a major impact in the Atlantic 10 next season."
St. Bonaventure finished the 2024-25 season with a 22-12 record. With Grahovac on the roster, the Bonnies should have a lot of hype surrounding them next year.
We'll see if the Bonnies can make the NCAA Tournament next season.
