The Jordan Brand Classic featured some of the nation’s top high school players, including the No. 1 ranked player in the 2025 class AJ Dybantsa. The BYU commit scored 25 points and collected nine rebounds for Team Flight on Friday night.
Dybantsa even picked up a new 'hero shot' celebration similar to Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Ja Morant. The grenade throw has picked up steam and is popular with the younger generation of ballers. Dybantsa did it twice in the matchup at CareFirst Arena in Washington DC.
Morant was fined $75,000 by the NBA for making gun gestures during a game against the Miami Heat, despite previously receiving a warning from the league. He chose to pivot with the grenade toss instead.
As for the game, Kiyan Anthony scored 26 points to lead Team Air to a 141-124 win. The Syracuse recruit and son of former New York Knicks legend Carmelo Anthony made 11 of his 15 field goal attempts, including a 3-for-5 performance from 3-point range, earning MVP honors.
Anthony has shades of his father's game, but definitely might be a more polished defensively than his pops. He was paired up with the Duke twins, Cayden and Cameron Boozer, who combined for 14 points.
This is the third straight All-Star exhibition for Dybantsa, who was also at the McDonald's All-American Game and Nike Hoop Summit this month. All of the competition has led to the BYU prospect showing off his skills.
