A’ja Wilson Draws Epic Response from Bam Adebayo After Wearing His Durags to Aces Game

This past calendar year, Bam Adebayo did not have a great run with the Miami Heat. However, winning a gold medal with Team USA at the Paris Olympics and almost officially confirming his relationship with fellow gold medalist A’ja Wilson made up for it.

After they returned from the Olympics, the duo would go about shooting hints and deflecting conversations. When she appeared at an event in Miami and sat alongside Adebayo’s family, did the basketball world come to agree that the two were dating.

Recently, they started appearing together, which gave the impression that they were unofficially official. However, their banter has not slowed down, and in Wilson’s last game, she decided to do something that had fans smiling.

The 3-time league MVP wore a bright orange durag on her head along with a Houston Comets jersey of the great Cynthia Cooper to her game against the Golden State Valkyries. Her boyfriend took to threads and wrote about the missing durag from his wardrobe.

Smh I hate when I can’t find my durags.

Bam Adebayo wrote

If anything, A’ja Wilson will be keeping hold of that durag at least until Bam Adebayo returns from his trip to Greece to be at a party with Michael Jordan. Then there is the fact that the Heat star still has a while to go before he returns to offseason workouts.

That means it is likely that the 6′ 9″ power forward will be in Las Vegas to support his girlfriend as she looks to drive her Aces up the ladder. They have not had the best of form recently, but if she leads like the reigning MVP that she is, they should be fine.

A’ja Wilson and Aces’ impressive win over Valkyries

The Golden State Valkyries have been the most impressive team in the WNBA this season. The concoction of role players, including some of A’ja Wilson‘s former teammates, Tiffany Hayes, and Kate Martin, has exceeded all expectations.

They have a penchant for winning against big teams, and tried to do the same against the 2-time champions. Throughout the game, the newly created expansion team kept pace with the Las Vegas Aces.

Wilson dominated both ends, scoring 34 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and blocking two shots. Her teammates also did their part, and the Aces held off a late charge from the upstart Valkyries to win 104-102.

With Wilson in such MVP-esque form, it is hard to beat the Aces. However, of late, her teammates have not been helping her, which has led to some inconsistent form. Their fans will hope the players start to understand how to play off each other and start winning consistently.

A’ja Wilson has a lot riding on her if Aces are to continue competing for titles

Last season, the Las Vegas Aces wanted to win their 3rd straight WNBA title. But the New York Liberty had the measure of them and exposed some of the Aces’ weaknesses. The franchise resorted to fixing those issues by making changes to its front office.

That resulted in a multiple-team trade to bring in Jewell Loyd for the outgoing Kelsey Plum . Along with that change, the Aces brought in some impactful players and drafted well. However, those changes have not yet started to bear fruit in the way they would like.

A’ja Wilson is the heartbeat of the team. Her scoring, defense, and ability to manipulate coverages have helped the team win 2 titles. If the Aces are to succeed, they need their best player to continue playing at her MVP level.

Without her, as was proven in the games she missed due to a concussion protocol, and then after injuring her hand, the team struggles to play well on both ends of the floor. If she can continue to play the way she did against the Valkyries, the team should be fine.
