In a testament to his longevity and consistency, Boston Celtics veteran Al Horford has etched his name deeper into NBA history.

Following the Celtics' Game 3 victory on Sunday afternoon, the NBA celebrated Horford’s latest milestone as he moved into 11th place on the all-time playoff games played list with 194 appearances, surpassing the likes of Karl Malone and Danny Ainge.

The achievement, announced via the NBA’s official X account, highlights Horford’s enduring impact in the postseason, a stage where legends are made.

Horford, a five-time All-Star, has been a cornerstone for the Celtics since joining the team in 2016, with a brief hiatus before returning in 2021.

His playoff journey began with the Atlanta Hawks, where he made deep runs, and continued through stints with the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder before finding a championship home in Boston.

In June of 2024, Horford finally captured his first NBA title, a crowning moment for a player long respected for his versatility, leadership, and clutch play.

The list he now graces is a who’s-who of basketball royalty, topped by LeBron James with 292 playoff games, followed by legends like Derek Fisher (259), Tim Duncan (251), and Kobe Bryant (220).

Horford’s climb to 194 games places him among icons like Michael Jordan (179) and Magic Johnson (190), underscoring his remarkable durability at 38 years old.

As the Celtics continue their 2025 NBA Playoffs campaign, Horford’s milestone serves as a reminder of his pivotal role in the team’s pursuit of another championship.
