The Los Angeles Lakers had a forgettable run during the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
Losing in the first round was an unacceptable outcome as the Los Angeles Lakers had clinched the third seed in the Western Conference.
One player who was showered with blame was the Lakers’ mid-season pick-up, Alex Len. He had a disastrous stint with the Lakers, and it wasn’t a surprise that the team didn’t bring him back.
After his terrible stint with the Purple and Gold, Len found himself on the New York Knicks. However, the Knicks waived Len before the start of the regular season.
The decision hinted at Len’s NBA career coming to an end, and that’s what happened. After all, Len is now signing a new multi-year deal with Luka Doncic’s former team.
No, it’s not the Dallas Mavericks. Len is heading to Spain to play for Real Madrid, per NBA insider Michael Scotto.

Doncic spent his teenage years with Madrid and grew into a phenomenal player before getting drafted into the NBA.
Could playing for RM Basketball help Len rejuvenate his career and earn a spot back in the NBA? Only time will tell.
Len was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. For context, Len was drafted ahead of Giannis Antetokounmpo.
However, it was clear that he never had the potential to become a superstar in the NBA. Despite that, by the 2020-21 season, Len averaged 7.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game in the league.
But post the 2020-21 season, Len’s true downfall started in the NBA as he signed with the Sacramento Kings.
Over the next three seasons, his averages fell to 3.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game. The final nail in the coffin was Len’s terrible run with the Lakers. As a result, Len is now heading overseas at just 32 years old.
