NBPA president Chris Paul on resumption of season: 'We want to play bad'

The NBA season has been on pause since the beginning of March due to the coronavirus pandemic, and players now are itching to get back on the court.

Chris Paul desperately wants the NBA to find a way to salvage the season, and the Oklahoma City Thunder guard isn't the only one either, as he said on "The Jump" (via For The Win's Nick Schwartz):

“A lot of hard conversations that have to be made, a lot of hard decisions, but with the team around us I think ultimately we’ll get to where we want to. Obviously we want to play. Oh man we want to play. We want to play bad, and I think that’s the consensus for the guys around the league. We want it to be, obviously, as safe as possible, but the biggest thing is we miss the game. ... I don’t have all the answers, but I know that people are working tirelessly trying to figure it out.”

Paul, the NBPA president, is optimistic the league can pick up where it left off, and things seem to be headed in the right direction.

The NBA is working on a plan to resume the season, and last week NBA commissioner Adam Silver laid out the details for a potential return, including various health and safety protocols to keep players safe.

Las Vegas and Walt Disney World are being discussed as potential host sites, but there are various hoops the NBA would need to jump through to make that happen despite both places being on board to host the league.

Silver and league executives may have an answer as to how things can resume in the next two to four weeks, but for now it's a waiting game.
