Report: Pacers 'seriously discussing' trades surrounding Malcolm Brogdon, Myles Turner

The NBA Finals are in the rearview mirror and the start of the NBA Draft is just three days away. With that, trade rumors are flying at a rampant pace.

One team near the center of it all in the Eastern Conference is the Indiana Pacers.

The Pacers have missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, and prior to that, were eliminated in first round in five straight years. They made one of the biggest trades of this past season in February, when they shipped off two-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis and others in exchange for a package of players including Tyrese Haliburton.

A former first-team All-Rookie who turned 22 shortly after the trade, Haliburton would figure to be a big part of Indiana's future plans. As far as who could be pursuing Brogdon and Turner, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that there were multiple teams in the mix.

"The Wizards and Knicks are interested in Brogdon, armed with the Nos. 10 and 11 picks respectively, sources said," Charania wrote. "The Hornets have expressed interest in Turner, those sources said. Still, Indiana, which has the No. 6 pick in the draft, could elect to continue retooling its veteran core rather than rebuild entirely around young players."

Brogdon was limited to a career-low 36 games last season due to an Achilles injury, but still averaged 19.1 points, 5.9 assists and 5.1 rebounds per contest, while posting a .448/.312/.856 shooting line.

Turner also struggled with injuries during the 2021-22 season, playing in just 42 contests (a career-low) due to a foot ailment, while averaging 12.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 blocks and posting a .509/.333/.752 shooting line.
