What these NBA stars would do if they were Adam Silver for one day

The NBA All-Star weekend gives players a chance to kick back and analyze the state of their teams and the sport in general. A group of 18 players -- who participated in various All-Star events -- spoke to The Athletic to answer a wide variety of questions. One of the questions they were asked was, "What would you do if you were [NBA commissioner] Adam Silver for one day?"

Among the answers, three players (Devin Booker, Karl Anthony-Towns and Paulo Banchero) voted for the elimination of back-to-back games, two (Bam Adebayo and Tyrese Maxey) said they "wouldn’t want to be" Silver even for one day, and Malik Beasley voted for a four-point line.

Jayson Tatum stole the show with his answer. The Celtics star urged the league to refund players for the fines they were slapped with for overturned technical fouls.

"If you get a tech for overreacting to a call and you were right, like they go back and look and the coaches do the challenge and they overturn the call, the tech should be rescinded," Tatum said. "You should get your money back. If you get a tech for overeating to a call that was deemed incorrect, you should get your money back."

Jalen Brunson had an interesting answer as well. The Knicks guard believes there should be mandatory late-game reviews for every possession. Currently, officials are allowed to use replay reviews for issues of fact -- if a player stepped out of bounds, or if a shooter's feet were behind the three-point line, etc. However, they are not allowed to review other grey area calls -- unless the coach uses one of their available challenges.

"Everything under a minute, or two minutes, must be reviewed," Brunson said.

When asked to vote for the "best player in the league," three voted for Nikola Jokic, three voted for Joel Embiid and two went with Luka Doncic. Even Kawhi Leonard received a vote.
