Andre Drummond thinks Lakers defense 'is going to be really crazy'
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Despite having a busy offseason, the L.A. Lakers failed to find a suitable replacement for JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard's rim protection.

Relying instead on the older and slower Marc Gasol and undersized Montrezl Harrell to fill their shoes, the team has struggled all year to find a steady presence under the rim, especially with Anthony Davis being sidelined for much of the season.

With Andre Drummond, however, they could finally have what they need to defend their crown. In his first chat with the media as a Laker, the 2x All-Star spoke about what kind of impact he was going to make for the team, citing that (once LeBron and AD return), their defense is going to be dominant.

We already know what LeBron and Davis can do defensively. They’re one of the best duos in the league when the games start counting in the playoffs.

As for Drummond, he has been criticized in the past for his lackluster efforts on that end. But his size and shot-blocking ability definitely make him capable on that end of the floor, and it will be interesting to see how he mixes with his teammates.

Needless to say, the Lakers are gearing up for a long playoff run.
