In the opening game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Andrew Nembhard delivered a breakout performance that propelled the Indiana Pacers to a 121–112 road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nembhard led all scorers with 23 points, connecting on an efficient 7-of-10 from the field and a scorching 5-of-6 from three-point range. He also chipped in six assists, showcasing his poise and playmaking under postseason pressure.

Indiana’s offense was red-hot from the perimeter, draining 19-of-36 shots from beyond the arc—a blistering 52.8%. That shooting barrage proved to be the difference, as Cleveland managed just 9-of-38 (23.7%) from three. The Pacers’ balanced attack also featured Tyrese Haliburton’s 22 points and 13 assists, while Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmith each contributed 17 points in the win.

Nembhard’s shooting display was reminiscent of his college days at Gonzaga, where he and his younger brother Ryan gave the Bulldogs a reliable dual-threat from long range in the backcourt. The Nembhards’ ability to stretch the floor helped define Gonzaga’s offensive identity in recent years.

With both brothers now in the pros, Gonzaga is aiming to reload in that department. One of the key moves toward that goal came with the addition of transfer Adam Miller. The 6-foot-3 guard arrives in Spokane after stints at Arizona State, LSU, and Illinois. Last season, he hit a career-high 42.9% from beyond the arc and brings veteran experience to a roster in need of perimeter firepower.

As Nembhard helps lead the Pacers deeper into the playoffs, his continued growth on the NBA stage serves as a testament to Gonzaga’s long-standing tradition of developing elite guard talent—and reinforces the importance of reestablishing that sharpshooting presence with Miller this upcoming season.
