Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were both selected to the All-Star game this season, due to their amazing individual number and general performance. Recently though, the Boston Celtics have fallen to the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference, after losing three straight games. The Celtics have not been the best as of late, and some people have pointed the blame at their superstars.

An anonymous NBA player has recently said that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown cannot be the superstars on your team. His reasoning was that Tatum and Brown don’t necessarily make their teammates better, as the two are focused on scoring.

While it is true that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are very scoring-oriented players, part of the reason for the Boston Celtics has been Marcus Smart’s injury. Smart is quite possibly the best perimeter defender in the league and leads the Celtics in APG with 6.1. The team has had to adjust to losing their primary playmaker, and that isn’t easy.

While the Boston Celtics have struggled as of late, there is still some time left in the season. They need to be swift in their turnaround, but it is entirely possible given the talent on their roster. Some playmaking duties will continue to fall to Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, but they could easily adjust.
