It was a reunion of sorts for Anthony Davis on Tuesday night as he returned to L.A. for the first time since his trade to the Dallas Mavericks

The 10-time All-Star, unfortunately, remains sidelined with a left adductor injury, which means that he was unable to take the floor against the Los Angeles Lakers. This fact, however, did not stop his former team from honoring their ex-superstar big man upon his return to Crypto.com Arena.

The Lakers showed a tribute video on the jumbotron early in the game, which prompted quite an ovation from the home crowd. Based on his reaction, it is clear that Davis appreciated the gesture both from the Lakers and the fans.

Davis waved to the crowd and put his hands together as a way of showing his gratitude to the supporters. His former Lakers teammate LeBron James was also seen applauding after seeing Davis' tribute video.

Davis spent the past five and a half seasons with the Lakers before he was traded to the Mavs for Luka Doncic. The five-time All-NBA big man played 312 games for L.A., averaging 24.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.2 blocks per game.

His current contract, now with the Mavs, extends through 2028. Davis, however, has a player option for the 2027-28 season, which means that he could potentially enter free agency in two years' time.
