Anthony Davis says he's '100% healthy' for resumed NBA season

The Los Angeles Lakers have faced a few bumps along their road to Orlando, including Avery Bradley opting out of the resumed NBA season. But one silver lining is that superstar Anthony Davis says that thanks to the time off, he will be "100% healthy" for the upcoming title run.

"It’s given me a chance to let my body recover, take a midseason break now, letting everything heal and get back to how I was at the beginning of the year," Davis told The Athletic. "So it’s been good for me to kind of let some of them lingering injuries I had toward the time when the NBA stopped to kind of recover and heal and get back into the best version of myself."

This is fantastic news for the Lakers, who will need Davis to be at the top of his game in order to beat out the Clippers, Bucks and any other team that stands in their way of a championship. Davis played in 55 of 63 Lakers games this season, averaging 26.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.

However, he was consistently battling minor injuries throughout the season, such as soreness in his shoulder and a sprained ankle. With four months to recover, Davis will be able to leave all of those nagging injuries behind and be at full power alongside LeBron James. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel spoke to Davis' importance to the team.

"I think any time Anthony Davis takes the floor, you have a chance to see something special," Vogel said. "He continues to get better, and he works extremely hard. Obviously, his talent is off the charts."
