The Los Angeles Lakers are getting Anthony Davis back on Monday against the Boston Celtics, but they plan to ease him back into action somewhat.
Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reported that the All-Star big man, who is returning from a five-game absence with a bruised tailbone, will be on a restriction of 28 minutes. Trudell adds that Davis worked out in the morning and said that he was ready to play.
The 26-year-old Davis suffered the injury on a scary fall against the New York Knicks roughly two weeks ago. The Western Conference-best Lakers did not miss a beat in his absence though, going 4-1.
Davis is averaging 35.2 minutes per game this season, so the 28-minute restriction won’t be too big of a drop as he makes his return to the floor.
