Road games often pose challenges for players, as they are not competing on their familiar court. However, these games also bring off-court challenges. Recently, the Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards shared one of the off-court challenges he has faced.
In his professional career, Edwards has dazzled fans in nearly every NBA arena across the United States and even some international courts. However, his experiences during road games in Memphis have been anything but smooth.
Recently, on “Sundae Conversation,” Ant-Man was asked if he ever thought about how many people had slept in the hotel bed before him. Edwards’ reply was more a no-holds-barred critique of the hotel accommodations in Memphis, offering a peek behind the curtain of life on the road in the NBA.
“Yeah, especially when we go to Memphis. I’d be like, damn, the hotels ain’t nothing in Memphis. That s--- be dirty. I walked into a Memphis hotel one time and it had stains and s--- on the bed.” Edwards said (viewer discretion advised).
Edwards isn’t one to hold back when it comes to speaking his mind. Recently, he fired back with a strong message in the “World vs. USA” debate, showcasing his signature boldness. His sharp critique of Memphis hotel rooms stands as yet another example of his fearless personality
In a recent episode of NBA TV, host Stephen Nelson, along with NBA veterans Tristan Thompson and Quentin Richardson, raved about Edwards, calling him a joy to watch both on the court and off. Thompson went so far as to call out Edwards’ magnetic personality, making it clear that the 24-year-old guard is a must-see, both on and off the hardwood.
“He’s the face of the league,” Thompson said.
