The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently playing the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

The Timberwolves lost Game 1 114-88. At this point, they are behind in Game 2 as well.

Anthony Edwards, though, enjoyed a strong start to the game. He scored 18 points in the entirety of Game 1 and has already scored the same in Game 2.

Heading to the WCF, Edwards needed 35 points to surpass Kevin Garnett as the all-time top scorer in the Timberwolves' playoff history.

Edwards has now surpassed Garnett's tally of 1,049, becoming the new leader. At 23, that's an incredible achievement from Edwards, a player who is often dubbed the modern-day Michael Jordan.

Edwards and the Timberwolves have been on a sensational run to the WCF. After eliminating LeBron James and Luka Doncic's  Los Angeles Lakers, they sent Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors packing.

Edwards came up against this season's MVP, the Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, in the WCF. Some dubbed this as a potential decider for who the face of the NBA is.

Edwards and the Timberwolves, though, are considerably behind at this point. However, they still have the chance to bounce back with five games to go in the series.

As for Anthony Edwards, he averaged 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists during the regular season.

In the postseason, the 23-year-old has managed 8.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 25.7 points on average in 11 appearances.

He has so far managed one steal in two games against the Thunder. With eight more, he can eclipse Garnett's tally of 63 and create another piece of Timberwolves history.

At 23, Anthony Edwards' best might be yet to come. For now, though, he'd look to get the Timberwolves over the line in the WCF, which won't be an easy task.
