Anthony Edwards reaches milestones as Timberwolves extend win streak

It marked Edwards’ second 40-point outing in as many weeks, further cementing his status as one of the league’s top young scorers. In early February, he recorded three consecutive 40-point games.

Earlier in the season, on Jan. 4, he erupted for a career-best 53 points in a statement performance. Currently, Edwards ranks second in total points scored this season (1,811), trailing only MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2,176).  

Jaden McDaniels provided key support against Utah, posting a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double, while Donte DiVincenzo contributed 11 points and seven assists in the victory.  

The Jazz, already struggling, were further depleted without two of their top three scorers, Keyonte George and John Collins. They committed 22 turnovers in their ninth straight loss, dropping to 15-53, firmly at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.  

With the win, Minnesota improved to 40-29, remaining locked in a battle with the Golden State Warriors for the sixth seed and an outright playoff berth. Golden State, currently in sixth at 39-28, has won seven straight, while the eighth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers have taken six of their last seven, adding further pressure in a tightly contested race.
