Anthony Edwards Shakes His Head After Seeing Aaron Gordon's Incredible Stat Line In Game 4: 'I'm Sick...'

Gordon recorded 27 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks in the contest. That would have been impressive as it is, but the 28-year-old also shot 11-12 from the field, 2-2 from beyond the arc, and 3-3 from the line.

Gordon just fell short of perfection, as his only miss on the night was a nine-foot jump shot that he took in the fourth quarter. Still, his performance did help overcome an incredible showing from Edwards, who had 44 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block on the night.

Gordon's defense had played a big role when the Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers in five games in the first round and he's now shining on offense against the Timberwolves. He has averaged 20 points over the last three games of this series while shooting 72.7% from the field.

Rudy Gobert Says Aaron Gordon Turned Into Kobe Bryant In Game 4

Rudy Gobert was also asked about Gordon's big night after the contest and he said the forward turned into Kobe Bryant during some stretches.

"A lot of the shots that he made were contested so if Gordon turns to Kobe Bryant in some stretches, we got to be living with that," Gobert said. "Those shots were contested, highly contested even some of them, so this is part of the game."

Some of those shots were very contested. Gordon hit one shot over Gobert with the shot clock expiring in the fourth quarter which was very much like what we had seen from Bryant over the years. Gordon also did a lot of damage by attacking the basket and finishing with authority, though, and the Timberwolves will have to do a better job of staying in front of him. 

The Timberwolves are also going to need Gobert to play better if they are to win this series, which is now tied at 2-2. The 31-year-old had 11 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block on the night, but wasn't great defensively. Gordon got some easy buckets thanks to the Frenchman overhelping at times and he needs to play up to his status as the Defensive Player of the Year.

If the Timberwolves do end up losing this series, I am certain Gobert's critics will point out that the team put in arguably their best performance of the series in Game 2, when he was out.

Aaron Gordon On Where He Learned To Be Selfless

Gordon's great play offensively in this series is a reminder that it is what he is capable of doing when given more opportunities. He has had to sacrifice a lot, playing alongside Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter Jr. Following this display, Gordon was asked where he learned to be selfless and he pointed to Jokic, who had just walked in.

"That guy, man, that's where I learned to be selfless," Gordon said. "I learned it from him. He's the best basketball player in the world, three-time MVP, and he's the most selfless, humble dude that you'll ever meet. So, if a three-time MVP can do it, I can do it too."

Jokic just sets such a great example for his teammates to follow. He doesn't care about stats or getting credit and just does whatever it takes to help the team get the win. That mindset has trickled through to everyone else and plays a part in the Nuggets being such a great team.
