On Thursday, the Minnesota Timberwolves will begin the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Denver Nuggets. A matchup that Anthony Edwards is already calling a rivalry.
Edwards is so psyched up that he is hoping one former Minnesota legend will be in attendance. On Wednesday, Edwards went into detail about his hopes that his friend Kevin Garnett comes to watch, per Andrew Dukowitz of Zone Coverage.
“I had only met him one time, and that was when we had a commercial together, and he was super cool, we got to know each other a lot, he told me a lot of old school stuff about Minnesota so that was cool,” he said. “Seeing him come back, I think that was big for us, because he’s a legend, he’s the greatest Timberwolve of all time… hopefully we can get him back in the playoffs”

Last January, Edwards and Garnett cut a Sprite commercial and have formed a tight relationship. At the same time, Edwards tied Garnett for the second most 30+ points games.
This year, Edwards averaged 28.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves finished the season at 49-33 and are the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference.
Garnett came to Minnesota out of Faragaut Academy in Chicago in 1995. He would go onto to play in Minnnesota until 2007. In the process, he helped evelate the franchise to new heights and led them to eight playoff apperances.
In 2004, the Timberwolves made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals, before losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.
