If you wear shoes that say "King of Broadway" to Madison Square Garden, you better play well. Trae Young did not.

Young's rough season continued Wednesday in New York when he shot 0-4 from three-point range and committed four turnovers in a 24-point loss. Young was a game-low -26 in his 30 minutes.
It could be the result of a sore shoulder, but Young's three-point shot has abandoned him recently. He shot just 29.3 percent from long range in November, and in his past five games, he's 5-34 from distance. Young also sat out Friday's game after an argument with coach Nate McMillan.
Losing in New York might sting the most.
Young became a legendary Garden villain during Atlanta's first-round series with the Knicks in 2021. He shredded the Knicks, averaging 29.2 points and 9.8 assists, and drove the fans crazy. One fan even spit on Young.
The culmination came when Young hit a three and took a bow near the end of Atlanta's Game 5 win, which drew the approval of another classic Garden villain, Reggie Miller.

Wearing special shoes to troll the Knicks is another step in Young's continuing campaign to troll New York fans, but it blew up in his face Wednesday, just like it did when he and Dejounte Murray taunted the Rockets and then blew a big lead.
Young's still averaging 26.6 points and 8.3 assists in his career at Madison Square Garden, so the Knicks haven't vanquished their foe just yet, but at least for one night, it was the Knicks taking a bow against Atlanta.
