Atlanta Hawks: Trae Young Calls Out Marcus Morris for His 1 Strange 'Passing' Take on ESPN

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young felt the need to respond to Marcus Morris’ lazy take about him and the NBA guards today.

Morris argued on ESPN’s First Take that point guards like Tyrese Haliburton are becoming extinct, but Kendrick Perkins brought up Young. The former Cleveland Cavaliers forward then said that Young “just started” passing the ball recently.

“Trae Young is a good player. He was shooting 3-pointers; he wasn’t a point guard. He just started passing the ball, he was shooting 40-foot 3-pointers,” Morris said.

Trae Young averaged 24.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 11.6 assists (league high), and 1.2 steals on 41.1 percent shooting from the field across 76 regular season appearances in 2024-25. Despite the solid numbers, he didn’t make the All-Star and All-NBA teams.
