The most talked about Los Angeles Lakers star this summer has not been LeBron James or Luka Doncic. It has been the team’s talented shooting guard, Austin Reaves. The 27-year-old has spent the majority of the summer at the center of trade talks. In fact, during the initial days of the offseason, it seemed like he was all but destined to a move away from the franchise.
However, we’re just a few days away from the training camp, but AR hasn’t been traded, as he continues to gear up for another campaign with the Lakers. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean that he didn’t have his fair share of doubts at one point. In a recent interview with The Athletic, he revealed that he was also scared that the front office might ship him away.
“I thought that there was a good chance for, like, a week after I declined the extension that there was a possibility I’d get traded,” Reaves told The Athletic in late August. “I mean, it’s still a possibility.”
